Bligny 42 is a building with a lot of international inhabitants, who comes from an unstable social background. Our team consists of six students of NABA and we have been given the opportunity to help this community by redesigning a common space in the building. Our concept consists of making a space dedicated to children where they can play , communicate and learn about different cultures, through educational activities . The main activity that will be happening is a Puppet Theatre where every week the children from the building an outside will gather and make their own puppets/dolls. A volunteering person will be hired to teach and take care of the participants. His/her role will be to help the multinational children to integrate in the Italian environment and create a more friendly atmosphere in the community they live in.

The way they spend their time in the weekly Puppet Theatre workshop will consist of few stages in which they will gain the final outcome of creating an actual play which will be performed in front of their parents and other children who learned about it from their schools or posters and flyers. The first stage will be the creation of the dolls , which represent different cultures. The following stage will be drawing different scenography backgrounds which will include main features of each nationality. The final stage is a rehearsal and the actual performance in front of an audience. The act will consist of a variety of nationalities which are brought together and focus on the idea of putting different stories and cultural backgrounds on the same stage..

Creating a culture-friendly environment for the children is of a great value and importance in the community of Bligny 42. Having weekly activities and a space where they can interact with each other and learn about different cultures creates a great opportunity to bring awareness and to help them integrate within their community.
