Social design tackles societal needs by design thinking. Designers are able to create positive and sustainable futures by a deep understanding of the present situation. In this course, students will learn how creativity is not only related to the arts but to every aspect of our life and that it does not only regards the citizens and the society but also comes from them. Hence, students will be working with people and co-designing solutions for a sustainable everyday-lifestyle. We will travel through the process of social innovation by literature overview, case study analysis and exercises with local stakeholders. Students will get more familiar with co-design and service design tools that will allow them to deal with such complex and exciting topics.

Il Design sociale tasta esigenze della società attraverso il Pensiero progettuale (design thinking). I designer sono in grado di creare futuri positivi e sostenibili partendo da una profonda comprensione della situazione attuale. In questo corso, gli studenti impareranno come la creatività è legata non solo alle arti, ma a ogni aspetto della nostra vita quotidiana. Inoltre,  la creatività non solo deve riguardare i cittadini e la società, ma può e deve nascere dagli stessi. Gli studenti lavoreranno con le persone e co-progetteranno soluzioni per uno stile di vita quotidiano sostenibile. Viaggeremo attraverso il processo dell’innovazione sociale passando dalla letteratura, all’analisi di casi studio e esercitazioni con gli stakeholder locali. Gli studenti avranno una maggiore familiarità con la co-progettazione e con il design dei servizi che consentiranno loro di affrontare temi così complessi ed entusiasmanti.
